A Neuropsychologist is an individual with a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology
and advanced Post-Doctoral training and expertise in evaluating and
understanding brain-behavior relationships.
Neuropsychologists use special tests to evaluate the
brain’s
capacity to perform tasks associated with memory, information
processing, cognition & reasoning, attention and executive functioning, learning,
and behavioral & emotional regulation.
Neuropsychologists do not prescribe medications and they typically do not do brain scans like MRI, CT, or EEGs.
