Contact information

  • After the first telephone contact and if the fit is good for us both, and we determine the best type of assessment, we will schedule both the Parent Intake Meeting and the Assessment with your child.
  • Forms and checklists are e-mailed to the family, teachers, and tutors.
  • A one-hour Parent Intake consult is conducted in order to review your child’s development and to discuss your concerns and goals.
  • The assessment is conducted and tests are administered with your child in the clinic.
  • Data are scored and analyzed. A comprehensive report of the results and an integrated interpretation of the findings is composed.
  • Data-driven recommendations are written out in an Action Plan in the report in order to build on your child’s strengths and skills, address any areas of challenge, and to further develop a support plan.
  • A two-hour feedback session is then conducted with the parents, during which the findings and the recommendations are discussed.
  • A copy of the report and recommendations are given to parents. A pdf version of the report is offered for you to share with others with whom you are working or who will be on the Team.
  • If parents request, the report may be sent to educators, therapists, tutors, or physicians in order to facilitate advocacy and the development of appropriate treatments, interventions, accommodations, and supports.
  • Depending on the age of the student, a shorter, child-friendly verbal feedback session is also offered. Feedback may help your child better understand their learning profile, foster resilience & a sense of hope, and may even improve treatment compliance. Feedback with the child may help to demystify why school or other situations are challenging, while validating their efforts and inviting them to collaborate on strategies for success.
  • This is a Private Pay clinic. Payment for the assessment process is due at the end of the testing day, once the exact # of assessment hours for your child can be determined.
  • A Invoice/Statement can be provided and submitted by you to your insurance company. Dr. Serpas does not bill insurance.
  • Upon parent request, and for an additional fee, Dr. Serpas is also available for feedback meetings with your child’s educational team.
